JDIH launches 2 new specialist divisions:

May 2007 saw the creation of two new specialist divisions of JDIH (Water & Environment) Ltd.

Reflecting the needs of differing market sectors, JDIH has created JDIH Envireau for its water management consultancy and Carbon Zero Consulting for renewable energy advice, design and implementation services.

JDIH Envireau has been created by bringing the Envireau Water Solutions business, headed up by John Findlay, into the JDIH fold. JDIH Envireau will be led by James Dodds, managing director and founder of JDIH (Water & Environment) Ltd .

John, who becomes a director of JDIH, will lead up the Carbon Zero Consulting division, concentrating on servicing the needs of industrial and commercial customers who see renewable energy as a way of creating a sustainable and efficient business.

For further information on the services offered by both divisions please refer to our June 2007 Stop Press which can be viewed/downloaded by clicking here.

Trickle / Transfer licensing implementation

JDIH Envireau's current understanding of the pending implementation of the licensing procedures covering newly licensable activities (including trickle irrigation and quarry dewatering) is as follows:

It is believed that the relevant parts of the Water Act 2003 will begin to be implemented in April 2008.  It is expected that abstraction licence applications will have to be submitted before 1 April 2010 and that the Agency will determine the application before 2012 or 2013.  It is currently expected that abstractions legally operating before the introduction of the new regulations will be allowed to continue until the licence application is determined.
