Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) covers a wide range of topics and approaches.
JDIH Envireau believes that the EIA is a means to
an end and not a means in itself.
JDIH Envireau
undertake EIA to support other developments, whether it be borehole development; infrastructure; mining and quarrying; housing or construction projects or waste disposal and discharges.
In any situation the EIA is designed to meet the objective of the development, while at the same time ensure that the correct data is
presented to the regulator. We specialise in the interaction of the water cycle and the environment, whether it is the potential for contamination of groundwater or the impact of groundwater abstraction on river and stream flows or the water level in a wetland.
In most circumstances we follow a sourcepathwaytarget type approach, which is specially developed for the particular problem being studied.
The Environment Agency has developed several tools to assist with assessments which they use in-house. We use these so that data is presented to the regulator in a format that they are familiar with and can easily assimilate internally.
In many situations assessment leads to the need for ongoing monitoring or some degree of amelioration.
JDIH Envireau aims to ensure that schemes are appropriate to the level of risk identified in the study and will strive to negotiate with the regulators to minimise expenditure.
